Sal Seed Collection and Trade Practices
Govt. of India has started the scheme Mechanism
for Marketing of Minor Forest Produce (MFP) through Minimum Support Price (MSP)
and Development of Value Chain for MFP so that the Minor Forest Produce collectors can get better price for their produce. Sal seed is purchased under this scheme in Chhattisgarh State. The collection rate for Sal seed is Rs. 2000/- per quintal for the year 2020. Sal seed is non specified MFP so any body can purchase from getherer in open market and Primary Co-operative Society purchases the produce on minimum support price from the collectors.

The funds for collection of the sal seed are made available to the District
